GAP.11

Awards

The Society for Analytic Philosophy (GAP) awards the three prizes at each of its congresses.

The Wolfgang Stegmüller Award for outstanding contributions to analytic philosophy, and the De Gruyter Award (formerly ontos Award) for philosophy of mind and ontology/ metaphysics are intended for the promotion of young researchers. With the Frege Award the Society for Analytic Philosophy (GAP) honors a renowned German speaking philosopher for outstanding achievements in the field of analytic philosophy. In addition, the GAP will award three best paper awards.

All prizes will be awarded in person. Information about the awardees will be published on this page in due course.

Wolfgang Stegmüller Award

The Wolfgang Stegmüller Award is awarded to three laureates, usually for dissertations and “second dissertations” (Habilitationen). The award is endowed with a total of €12,000. For further information see the GAP homepage.

De Gruyter Award

The De Gruyter Award, originally donated by ontos publishing as “ontos Award” and now donated by the publisher De Gruyter, is awarded for an outstanding work in the areas of analytic philosophy of mind and ontology/ metaphysics, and is endowed with €2,000 and the costs of an open access publication of the e-book. Frege Award

The Frege Award is awarded to a German-speaking philosopher for outstanding achievements in the field of analytic philosophy. In honor of the laureate, a panel discussion will be held at GAP.11. For further information see the GAP homepage.

Best Paper Award

The Society for Analytic Philosophy (GAP) will grant award three best paper awards at GAP.11. The awardees will be selected from the accepted section contributions by the section chairs. The prizes are endowed with € 500 each. They will be awarded at the opening event.
